Operations Manager for Super Cool Gaming Startup (REMOTE!)

We are looking for a dynamic and driven Operations Manager with some serious operational chops to join our team. This isn’t your typical two-years-til-release gaming operation –– we’re all about improving and iterating in real time. So if you’re passionate about games and you want to get involved at the ground level of something really exciting, then this job might be for you.

As the Operations Manager in an early-stage technical startup, this means you'll quickly become the go-to person for all things nontechnical. Depending on the day, you could be vetting new vendors to finding a new recruiting platform to running point on projects in finance, legal, and more. The breadth of responsibilities is ideal for someone who is looking for a front-row seat –– you’ll get hands-on experience and behind-the-scenes exposure to all aspects of this world. 

The work environment strongly emphasizes autonomy and ownership –– they need someone who can step up as a leader. So you should be self-sufficient and scrappy, with the chops to own a complicated task from start to finish. You should enjoy working independently and figuring out how to get things done, even if you’ve never done them before.   • Taking high-level, potentially vague assignments and filling in the blanks, sometimes with little to no direction.
  • Running point on day-to-day operations by identifying opportunities for improvement and then implementing solutions as needed.
  • Collaborating with the CEO and other senior management to understand business needs, overseeing and assisting with finances, participating in recruiting, and more.
  • Fleshing out and formalizing our internal operational policies and processes in a way that aligns with our values and goals.
  • Staying up to date with our releases, our competitors, and general trends in gaming.
  • Building and maintaining great relationships with people at all levels.
  • Following-up and following-through on all action items.
  • Staying on top of ever-changing priorities and projects.


  • A background in gaming is encouraged but not required (although an interest is definitely expected!).
  • Critical thinker and creative problem solver.
  • Self-starter and self-motivated. Not afraid to roll up your sleeves.
  • We LOVE super smart people, as long as they’re also super kind people.
  • Proactive nature and positive attitude, where no project is too big or too small and no problem is above or beneath you.
  • Personable and persuasive –– an innate ability for interacting well with people at all levels and all walks of life.

  • Natural affinity and ability for details –– you triangulate and triple-check everything.
  • Dedicated to planning ahead, yet nimble when faced with unexpected changes.

  • Prior experience in a startup is also a big plus.
